ASL satisfies increasing demand for true failsafe functionality with Electro-Hydraulic KEH series from Quifer

The KEH range of electro-hydraulic actuators from Quifer offers an extremely reliable solution when failsafe actuation is needed but instrument air is unavailable.

Distributed in the UK exclusively by ASL, the KEH features a compact modular design incorporating a spring return actuator and closed-loop hydraulic pump. The springs provide a true failsafe action with the precision of electrical control.

When energised, hydraulic pressure is generated to open the actuator and, upon loss of power, the KEH automatically moves to the failsafe position. The springs do not require maintenance and are considered to be the industry standard for field-proven reliable shutdown – offering better reliability than other solutions such as batteries which have a restricted temperature range and require regular monitoring and periodic replacement.

The KEH is ideal for operating in harsh or hazardous conditions and is available for both rack & pinion and larger scotch yoke actuators with torques up to 46,000NM.

Key features of the KEH include:

  • True failsafe action – Ideal for critical and remote applications
  • Up to 46,000NM torque output
  • Wide range of voltages from 24VDC to 400V three phase
  • Available for both ATEX and safe areas.

Multiple options are available including push button local controls, limit switches, modulating control, quick closing and manual override.

The KEH is a real step forward in quarter-turn actuation and is already proving to be very popular with customers demanding a robust solution for safety-critical applications in the most challenging of environments.

If you need an electric failsafe actuator to operate all day or just once a year, you can rely on the KEH from Quifer to perform when needed. It’s is just one of a large range of electric and pneumatic actuators and associated accessories available exclusively from ASL.
